چکیده

Patients 1000 patients aged > 25 years (mean age 49 y, 90% men) with ≥ 1 major risk factor for CAD (hypercholesterolaemia, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, angina pectoris, or previous myocardial infarction [MI]). Exclusion criteria included cancer, chronic diarrhoea or dysentery, blood urea concentrations > 6.6 mmol/l, arthritis, dislike of the intervention diet, and refusal of laboratory testing. Follow up was 98%.
